OSENC manufactures custom Ni-Cu-Ni coated neodymium magnets with controlled plating thickness, finished tolerances, magnet grade, magnetization and geometry to your drawing. Our standard total Ni-Cu-Ni thickness is 15–21 μm, with precision finished tolerances down to ±0.05 mm for approved geometries.
OSENC uses the stack NdFeB + Ni + Cu + Ni. The first nickel layer supports bonding and protection, copper forms the middle barrier, and the outer nickel layer provides the final smooth silver / semi-bright metallic surface. We control total Ni-Cu-Ni thickness on the product specification and define individual layer data only when the process documentation requires it.
| Voce | OSENC Specification | Purchasing Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Struttura | NdFeB + Ni + Cu + Ni | Multilayer metallic protection for sintered NdFeB. |
| Total Thickness | 15 μm minimum / 15–21 μm standard / 30 μm upper limit | Finished dimensions are controlled after plating. |
| Standard Finish | Smooth silver / semi-bright silver metallic finish | Bright mirror, satin or matte require a separate finish specification. |
| Tolleranza sul pezzo finito | ±0,10 mm standard / ±0,05 mm di precisione | Applied to suitable plating-finished geometries. |
| Corrosion Positioning | Indoor / controlled humidity / normal industrial handling | More aggressive environments move to another protection system. |
We treat coating, magnetic performance and finished dimensions as one manufactured part, so the quotation reflects the real assembly requirement rather than a generic nickel finish.
OSENC manufactures nickel coated disc, cylinder, block, ring and countersunk magnets across micro, standard and large custom ranges. The final drawing controls plating access, edge condition, hole geometry, tolerance and magnetization.
| Forma | Capability |
|---|---|
| Disco / Cilindro | Micro down to D0.2 × T0.2 mm; regular matrix about Ø5 × 1 to Ø50 × 30 mm; larger custom parts reviewed separately. |
| Blocco | L 1–254 mm / W 0.5–127 mm / H 0.3–120 mm. |
| Anello | OD 1.5–300 mm / ID 0.4–250 mm / T 0.3–120 mm. |
| Magneti svasati | Disc / block body envelope with hole diameter, major diameter, angle and position defined separately. |

Selected micro parts can reach the 0.2 mm class, including disc sizes around D0.2 × T0.2 mm and micro block sizes around 0.2 × 0.2 × 0.2 mm. Precision tolerance in the ±0.005–0.020 mm range is reviewed only for selected micro geometries where grinding, plating build and inspection capability support the drawing.
OSENC Ni-Cu-Ni products cover N35–N56 plus M, H, SH, UH, EH and AH high-temperature families. We select the grade from the required magnetic output, coercivity, geometry and operating temperature.
OSENC supports axial, diametrical, radial, multipole and custom magnetization. Disc / ring / cylinder parts can use axial or diametrical directions, while blocks can be magnetized through thickness, length or width.
OSENC machines through holes and countersinks before Ni-Cu-Ni plating so the hole wall, countersunk face and external surfaces enter the plating process together. Finished magnets are not drilled afterward because post-machining breaks the coating and exposes NdFeB.
For deep or blind holes, OSENC defines the required plated depth and acceptance criteria from the actual hole diameter, depth and geometry. The drawing must identify the surfaces that require verified coating coverage.
We review fragile corners, countersunk margins and thin sections before plating so protected edges are not designed around avoidable crack or handling risks.
We machine holes before plating and do not drill finished Ni-Cu-Ni magnets afterward, preventing exposed NdFeB at the new cut surface.
We define plated depth and inspection requirements for deep or blind holes instead of treating a recessed surface like an open face.
Finished surfaces and packaging protection are checked before shipment to reduce coating damage during transport and assembly.
Our inspection plan focuses on the finished magnet that reaches your assembly, not only the bare NdFeB core.
OSENC selects the coating from the actual environment, surface behavior and dimensional requirement.
| Rivestimento | Quando viene utilizzato da OSENC | Main Purchasing Check |
|---|---|---|
| Nickel / Ni-Cu-Ni | General-purpose metallic finish, controlled indoor use and normal industrial handling. | Stack, total thickness, geometry, finished tolerance and exposure. |
| Zinco | Economical mild-environment protection is the priority. | Passivation, appearance and corrosion requirement. |
| Resina epossidica | A polymer barrier is preferred for humid or more corrosion-sensitive duty. | Edge damage, coating system, finished dimensions and test condition. |
| PTFE | Low friction, non-stick behavior or chemical-surface performance drives the design. | PTFE construction, dimensional build and chemical exposure. |
OSENC uses Ni-Cu-Ni for general industrial, indoor and controlled-humidity applications. For long-term immersion, seawater, continuous salt exposure, permanently wet assemblies or aggressive chemicals, we move the project to epoxy, PTFE, Parylene, encapsulation or another dedicated corrosion-protection system.
